My Story  and life Experiences

First, I am a proud parent myself. I raised two boys who are doing quite well and they have become excellent students in the process (I can not take credit alone).

My udergraduate work was in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Today, I work full time as a Technical Sr. Business Analyst at a local non-profit. My passion is with education and helping young people develop. I have been tutoring for the last 5 years and I am currently pursuing my Masters of Education degree in Elementary Education. My dream is to open a local, after-school program in the Northern Virgina area.

Individualized,
Customized â€‹Learning
Plans

My work is based on the students needs and the parents concerns. I look at where the student is in terms of the state and national standards and develop a curriculum from there. One size does not fit all, each student comes with indivudal needs and experiences.

Only through doing one-on-one assessments and interviews can I determine where your child needs to focus. I look at grades and standarized tests but much more importantly, I look at the learning patterns of the student.

Can I afford tutoring lesson for my child?

You can't afford NOT to!! A child who is left behind in school has a less than average chance of being truly independent and happy. They won't be able to get into college or get decent paying jobs. More often they not, they become dependent on their parents for extended periods of time until they 'get on their feet'. Teach your child to become independent, studious and a hard-worker! My hourly rate include on-going access for homework inquiries  Don't wait until it is too late! My rates are reasonable and I can work with the parents on payment schedules.

Standardized Testing

Standardized testing is a fact of life. I use current Virgina standard tests as a baseline to see if your child is meeting the state and federal guidelines for thier grade level. Tests are not the the be all and end all. They are merely an academic indicator and are necessarily a predictor of future success. I believe strongly that all students are born with God given talent and it is the resonsibility of the educators to develop that talent.
